About us
Facilities
The nursery is contained within a large detached Victorian house with a walled garden and play area to the rear. The nursery comprises of a large play room, where meals are taken and it is here that most of the daily activities occur. There is also a changing room, a sleep room and a toddlers’ room.
Policies
Since becoming registered under The 1989 Childrens Act we are required to have policy documents on a variety of issues. The nursery has a policy on care and control of children, a complaints procedure and a child protection policy. All of the above are displayed clearly on notice boards within the nursery.
Registration
Parents of children attending the nursery are required to complete a registration form. This document contains relevant information on individual children’s needs, contact addresses, doctor’s name and information on the administration of any medication.
Admissions Procedure
After viewing the nursery and completing a registration form arrangements will be made for settling in your child. Normally the child is accompanied on a first visit by a parent or guardian for about an hour. Subsequently the child will attend for one session unaccompanied. No fees are payable for this settling in period.
Attendance
If your child is absent (holidays/illness) the nursery must be informed as soon as possible. During a year two weeks may be taken as holidays and are charged at half the fee rate. If your child is absent through illness for more than one week the fees will again be halved. Full fees, in advance, are payable at all other times of the year except when the nursery is closed. If you intend to withdraw your child one months notice is required.
